How to Calculate Inverter with 12V Battery Backup Time?

The inverter capacity is not a factor of backup time.
For an inverter running from a 12V battery,the duration of the appliance is determined by these 3 factors:
Voltage of input power
Power of the appliance
Capacity of the battery
So the battery backup time in hours can be calculated using following formula:
You can use the formula to choose suitable battery you need.
Backup Time = Battery AH x 12V x N x Efficiency of conversion / Load in Watts.
where,
Battery AH = Ampere Hour Capacity of Battery.
N = Number of 12V Batteries needed,two or more 12v batteries need connect in parallels.
Efficiency of conversion = Generally it is 0.85
Note:The inverter capacity is not used in backup time calculation.
Suppose, you have a 60A battery. Your load is 150W. you have a single 12V battery.
Backup Time = ( 60 x 12 x 1 x 0.85 / 150 ) hours = 4.08 hours
